Tanglewood Mews is a purpose built environment set in three acres of land surrounded by inspirational views of the county of Durham and is situated within the town of Stanley. Our service is highly specialised for adults with learning disabilities and with complex needs, who without specialist support may challenge services.
Our homes and Supported Living flats and houses are all built to an exceptionally high standard and specification and all have private gardens. Regardless of the type of accommodation, all bedrooms have full en-suite facilities and each communal area is light, spacious and ideal for the service user group in mind. Our service users are also encouraged to choose areas of garden for their own use to grow vegetables, fruit or flowers. People are also encouraged to personalise their own bedrooms or work with others with whom they live to enhance communal areas.
We have provided an environment which is conducive to relaxation within a homely setting, and additional quiet areas add to this effect.

Great care has gone into the design of our purpose built Supported Living environments and Residential settings and this attention to detail takes account of the challenges with which each person may currently be faced.
Through our in-depth assessment procedures and admissions process we ensure that the environment is compatible with each service user. Our complete functional assessment and our personalised homes ensure a “good match” with each individual we support.
For people who cannot or do not wish to use public transport, we provide vehicles to ensure that we do not limit their geographic horizons or aspirations. Our vehicles are also used as a means of ensuring that appropriate contact is maintained between our service users, their family and friends.
