IABA
The IABA is the Institute for Applied Behavior Analysis, an organisation dedicated to the advancement of positive practices in the field of challenging behavior.
The whole ethos of the IABA philosophy is concentrated upon positive, person- centred behavioural support, instructional strategies and total quality assurance systems for people who demonstrate behaviours which are deemed to be challenging.
At Integrated Support we absolutely follow this philosophy of ensuring that every one of our service users receives the highest quality of life possible, enabling and empowering each person to live a "normal" life within a natural setting, with full, positive and valued community presence and participation.
As people having a learning disability are increasingly being integrated into communities, responding to their problem behaviours in a dignified and appropriate manner becomes ever more essential.
hello We achieve this by:
- A positive programming model which is a gradual educational process for behaviour change, based on a functional analysis of problems presented. This also gives us a framework which is based on personal outcomes.
- Systematic instruction in more effective ways of behaving
- Non-aversive behavioural approaches which demonstrate how specific techniques can change behaviour through positive means.
- Periodic Service Reviews which give us the tools we need to enhance and maintain high quality of service delivery and to evidence this to all who purchase our services.
We therefore provide:
- A comprehensive behavioural assessment and functional analysis for people with challenging behaviour/s
- A positive future plan that emphasises community presence and participation, developing and maintaining relationships, personal choice and preferences and finally, community respect and personal communication
- Systematic teaching to expand independent life skills required for living within a community and enjoying life.
