Complex Needs
At Integrated Support, we pride ourselves on offering a wide choice of facilities and services for people having a learning disability and severe and complex additional needs.
Regardless of the degree of ability someone might have, at the heart of what we do are 3 key principles and these are what drive forward our services:
- Independence. Our starting presumption is that our service users are capable of living with greater independence, and the services we provide are there to maximise this.
- Choice. We believe that, in common with the rest of society, our service users should have a real say in where they live, with whom they live and who looks after them.
- Inclusion. We enable our service users to make use of mainstream services and be fully included and involved in their local communities.
In order to achieve this we introduce our service users to a Multi Element Model for Positive Behavioural Support which concentrates on 4 elements:
- Our Assessment process which ensures that all information regarding our potential service users is collected, that any environmental changes are documented and past support strategies are examined, along with a functional behavioural analysis.
- The methods we use to support each person as an individual, both in the short and longer term. We believe that there is a legitimate reason for any behaviour, no matter how severe it may seem and our long term aims are there to change the behaviour to a more appropriate way of communicating.
- A totally consistent implementation of each person's Plan, as without consistency, people will fail through no fault of their own.
- Measuring the personal outcomes for each of our service users and we have a number of tools and protocols which illustrate individual progress.
